RamaDaan 1441/2020

From Ustaadh abu Hudhayfah; on behalf of Timbuktu seminary. I welcome and announce the official start of Ramadan 1441/2020 this Thursday evening corresponding with April 23rd 2020 on the Kaafir calendar.
The first day of fasting shall be JumuAh-Friday corresponding with April 24th 2020.

We have reached our decision after consulting with a number of scholars, and specialist. And considering the reported actual sightings by other countries.

The following are some of the countries/organizations and scholars who have shaped our decision:

The three reported sightings in Kerala India,

The decision of The High Judiciary Council of Saudi Arabia,

Our direct communication with Shaikh Talaa AsSaudi An administrator of the Meccan Hajj Committee,

The decision of The Islaamic Center of America in East-Orange NJ (The third largest Masjid in the USA)

Therefore, after the direct consultation and advice of Shaykh Khaleel Carter;

I declare that Friday 24 April 2020 on the Kaafir’s calendar, to be the first day of RamaDaan 1441 after the hijrah of our Prophet, MuHammad.

May Allaah accept our fast, our recitation, and our Salaah. Aameen.
